Ford F-250 travel in and around Reno

I love to go four wheeling in the BLM land all around Reno, NV. I have taken my truck into many a place that would scratch the heck out a your truck, so be warned. My truck is scratched up pretty good.

I have been finding wild horses on the BLM land and my kids think this is cool. I think I will add some pictures of the horse at some time just to show where they are located in Reno. If you go to this link: dry lake bed , you will see the road that crosses a dry lake bed. This is where I saw several small herds of horses. The easiest way to get to this location is to travel up the canyon road on the south side of the power substation located on Mira Loma road on the outskirts of Reno. Once you get to the TOPOZONE link you can zoom out to see exactly where this road is located in Reno. The trip up the road can be traversed with any two wheeled drive truck, a few rocky spots will make you want a 4-wheel drive just for peace of mind. But to this spot, in dry weather, the road is passable in two drive mode.

This area is in the Virginia Foothils, east of Reno Nevada. There are mines and old towns thoughout this region. I will post pictures of more trips around this area , as time prmits. You can also come up to this view from the Hidden Valley County Park, on the East Side of Reno.
